Over the last two days, I’ve been off-task, agitated and anxious. I couldn’t concentrate. I wasn’t remembering what I was doing or thinking. I was out of kilter, off-balance. It was, I imagined like having my brain being gnawed by insatiable white ants. Bees too were buzzing in my head. I thought maybe the insideContinue reading “Stay Calm”

The Truth about Depression
Depression for me is like looking through a fog. There is light but I can’t always see it because what I see first is the fog. Getting through the fog, to see the light needs a trained eye so one can see from another perspective. I want to refute in this post some of theContinue reading “The Truth about Depression”
Lies told by Depression
Serenity on the Karuah River NSW. I took this photo back in July. I wasn’ going to write this post because journaling has become almost a compulsion. Still, while it helps I’ll continue wearing my heart on my sleeve. Yesterday I wrote about how depression lies. Here are some more examples. Being alone is better. The Best Kind of Day — tbs2539
I stuffed around today to try and share the image below. Amazingly I kept my cool and only swore a little bit. Well, maybe a bit more than a little. Journaling/blogging whatever you want to call it has in the past and is now a cathartic activity. It’s a releasing of emotions a clearinghouse for […]Continue reading “The Best Kind of Day — tbs2539”
Reflection
If you reflect on your past experiences, you look at them once again thoughtfully. The posts I have written have been very beneficial to me. I usually write each day. Distressed that the Black Dog has made yet another appearance in my life not long after the previous episode. Why me! PleaseContinue reading “SMART Goals”

Co-Pilots
I imagine part of a co-pilots job is to assist the pilot to maintain a safe altitude. When I’m unwell mentaly I usually recognize the symptoms when I’m dropping altitude too fast and I’m about to dip down to a dangerous level, curled up in bed in the foetal position. Luckily I have good co-pilots.Continue reading “Co-Pilots”
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Taken from the proverb “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” which means that having something, even if it is a lesser quantity, is better than taking the chance of losing it in order to attain something else that seems more desirable. Is this contentment? I think it is. To be happy with what one has. To stop strivingContinue reading “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”
